A Practical Faith-Based Approach

I provide a biopsychosociospiritual approach to counseling. This means that in confronting issues one must look at the entire person including biological, psychological, social, and spiritual factors that influence the healing process. All of these aspects of a person's life interact together to form a complete picture of what someone might be experiencing.

For those with PTSD, anxiety, and/ or challenges with depression, I now offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy). EMDR is a distinct integrative approach used to address and process disturbing life experiences that contribute to clinical problems and health.

I dedicate my work as a faith-based counselor to Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

God-Centered vs. Person-Centered

Issues related to each individual’s journey include the search for meaning in life; learning how to embrace the fullness of joy and love in the context of relationships; developing coping skills and thriving in spite of inevitable difficulties, disappointments, anxieties, and sufferings; and dealing with transitions and end-of-life concerns. I am dedicated to providing unconditional positive regard, empathy, genuineness, and compassion for persons of all backgrounds. Since God is the ultimate source of our strength, the focus of therapy is on being God-centered and faith-based.

The healing process

Emphasis is on restoring and developing a person’s dignity, strengths, and God-given talents for problem-solving, personal growth, and achievement. This is done within the context of discovering and following God's will for one's life in a practical and down-to-earth effort to bring the healing love of Jesus Christ to those seeking and desiring help.

All counseling is confidential and adheres to professional standards of ethics.

A sense of dedication

I believe that my work as a counselor is a vocation and strive to remain faithful to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Persons from all walks of life are welcome and respected.
